Graduated with BSc (Civil Engineering) from University of Swansea Wales, UK in 1979 and subsequently completed MBA (General) from University of Hull, UK in 1998.

Started working as a Engineer in JKR in September, 1979.  Rose through the rank of Executive Engineer, Senior Executive Engineer, Assistant Director of Roads, Director of Roads, Director of Drainage & Sewerage and Director of Technical Services.

Promoted to hold the post of Deputy Director General, JKR in 2003 and subsequently to Director General, JKR in 2005.

Transferred to become the Deputy Permanent Secretary II (Policy and Development) of Ministry of Defence in August, 2005 till February, 2008.

Appointed as Permanent Secretary (Technical & Professional), Ministry of Development in July, 2008 till retirement in September, 2010.

Possess thirty-three (33) years of experience in Senior Civil Service overseeing the implementation of many major infrastructure and development projects.
